PFW Spring 2016 Day 3 Recap: Rainbow Bright

On day three of Paris Fashion Week, the designers were not afraid of a little color.

And by a little, we mean every color in the rainbow. At Chloe it was a literal take on rainbow bright, with flowy dresses in “sherbert shades” the evoked a youthful and romantic muse. Inspired by the ’70s, the collection featured slip dresses over pants,  track suits and even overalls transformed into hippie maxi dresses.

At Carven, deep blues and purples reigned supreme, with the feeling of summer, and the ocean, being the ultimate muse. Bomber jackets were the highlight of the collection, as were the Oxford shirts making for a packing guide to your next summer vacation.

Balmain, on the other hand, put together a 60-piece collection that was softer and more feminine than past years with ruffles everywhere. Amidst the countless pieces in neutral tones and suede pieces, there were pops of greens, oranges and blues. However, the collection seemed more fitting for fall than spring.

Lanvin (above) also brought the color, with a collection that morphed from black-and-white staple pieces to jewel-tone sequined dresses, mini-skirts  and even sequined cardigans that make fashion fun. Alber Enaz’s inspiration: “It’s a celebration of femininity, of colors, of shine and volume, silhouettes, bows and crystals.”

Adding to the shine of the collection were the bold necklaces and brooches on the lapels.

The only designer that missed the color mark was Rick Owens’ model on model runway with his signature minimalist approach and jaw-dropping presentation value.
