Pretty Little Liars: Lucy Hale Debuts a New Bob (Plus More Beauty Secrets From The Set!)

The Liars are back in action for what promises to be a #SummerofAnswers — and Monday night’s season 6 premiere did not disappoint. PEOPLE caught up with the show’s leading ladies for a special screening at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where the cast watched with patients and their families. We couldn’t get the girls to unearth all of A’s secrets, but we were able to dig up some beauty dirt. (Warning: Spoilers below.)

First thing’s first…
Lucy Hale cut her bob even shorter.
Over the past few months, Hale has been experimenting with shorter new lengths. And this time, she’s gone for an angled bob that hits right at her chin. So, what does that mean for Aria? “I’m doing a little something different with my hair, which I can’t disclose yet,” Hale tells PEOPLE of her looks to come on the show. In the meantime, we’ll be over here wondering what magic serum the Liars used to keep their hair so perfect after hours in the dirt and rain.
The girls keep eye gels on set to help them relax after a crazy day.
Looks like we’re not the only ones who need a face mask and a tall glass of rosé after finishing an episode. According to Shay Mitchell, they store Skyn Iceland under-eye gels in the freezer to pop on when they need to unwind or “reduce puffiness.” Fun fact: They also keep calming lavender spray on-hand.
The one beauty product that mysteriously goes “missing” after prep is…
Elizabeth Arden lip balm. Because Hale is obsessed with it. “It’s my favorite and it’s really hard to find,” she says. She’s also guilty of swiping Cinnamon Altoids and gum. Shhh! (Also, in case you ever find yourself getting ready with Troian Bellisario, you don’t have to worry about her stealing your mascara. “I don’t pay attention to makeup at all,” she admitted.)
It’s almost summer, so they’re all in the midst of transitioning their beauty routines.
Mitchell currently swears by tinted moisturizer with SPF and BB cream. “Kurt Adler has a good one [and] Jouer has a good one,” she says. “I just like it because it knocks out three different things at once.” Meanwhile, Ashley Benson is all about that safe skin life. She’s stocking up on sunscreen (because “I don’t want to get sunburned”) and coconut oil for her hair.
As for Hale, she’s planning to wear less makeup and focus on her skin regimen more. “I just started getting my skin summer ready,” she says. “That means facials, a lot of having to take my makeup off at night and not letting myself go to sleep with makeup on.”
And saving the best reveal for last…
There will be another prom scene!
Did you really think that creepy “dance” in Charles’s dollhouse would replace the Liars’ senior prom? Okay, we kind of did too, until Benson dropped this bomb on us. “I don’t really think you’re ever going to see us graduate, to be honest,” she tells PEOPLE of the possibility of a graduation scene. “But we do get to do the prom. We can’t tell you what we’re going to be wearing yet, but it’s really fun.”
