For those who are both social media addicts and online shopping aficionados, Amazon and Twitter have just announced a very interesting social shopping concept that could prove to be an innovative new way to shop. Hashtagging used to just help us find all of our crazy interests in one place, but Amazon and Twitter are making them much more future-y and technologically advanced than we could’ve ever imagined.

The concept is pretty simple: You’re on Twitter and see an Amazon product link for an item you really, really want. All you have to do to get that item from the internet to your doorstep is reply to the tweet with the hashtag #AmazonCart and voila, it’s in your shopping bag. For it to work, however, your Amazon and Twitter account must be linked,  but it’s a small step to take to unlock the future of social shopping.

This is one of the many new innovations Amazon has announced in their efforts to stay ahead of the competition in the e-commerce market. It was just a few months ago that the company announced their forthcoming “shipping drones” that will fly to your doorstep the same day you place your order to deliver your packages. The future is here people.

This is a pretty cool idea seeing that some of us are already too lazy to open a new tab to see the product we like, now we’re just a hashtag away.
