See Misty Copeland’s Mega-Carat, Sparkling Engagement Ring (PHOTO)

Misty Copeland killed her speech and red carpet style at Monday’s Glamour “Women of the Year Awards” in N.Y.C. And ICYMI: She also wore her beautiful engagement ring.

The prima ballerina (quick background: She’s the first African-American woman to be named a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater and she also nabbed a spot on TIME 100’s Most Influential People list in 2015) accessorized her black high-slit gown with statement earrings, stacked bracelets and her gorgeous new rock from fiancé Olu Evans (he happens to be Taye Diggs’s cousin!).

The sparkling diamond looks to be a cushion cut stone, surrounded by a halo of diamonds on a pavé band.

Copeland revealed her engagement in the September issue of Essence. She also opened up to Vanity Fair this summer about her dream wedding dress.

“I’d like to show my figure, somewhat — romantic and elegant,” she told the magazine, featured as part of its International Best-Dressed List feature. “I don’t think I want to go super poofy or anything like that. It’s very different for a performer, a ballerina, someone who is onstage a lot and wears big costumes. So it’s not like this is my chance to be that way, because that’s something I do every day, almost. I want to feel like myself — but more beautiful than I do every day.”
