Expect A Shortage Of Selfies At The 2015 Met Gala

We’re literally two days away from one of the biggest nights in fashion! And while the annual Met Gala usually brings the most creative red carpet looks, we have to admit that the best part of the evening has to be peeking in on all the action via social media.

Unfortunately for us, that won’t be part of this year’s festivities, thanks to Met Ball organizers who are making some major changes. According to Page Six, all guests have received notices that “the use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted inside the gala” – which basically means no exclusive selfies or videos for us to discuss the following day.

Our first guess was that this new rule has something to do with the Met Gala documentary that’s on its way, but a Page Six source quickly put those assumptions to rest. “It has solely to do with guests’ security and enjoyment of the event.”

And now we’re pretty convinced the social media ban has more to do with those rare moments of celebrity privacy. Of course no one’s forgotten the epic elevator scene with Solange Knowles and Jay-Z last year. And who can forget the hilarious video of Reese Witherspoon and Zooey Deschanel drunkenly trying to pronounce Cara Delvingne’s name?

Social media ban or not, we know there’s nothing that can stop a determined starlet. So in the midst of the disappointing news, we’ve gathered a few celebs whos Instagram accounts we’ll be keeping tabs on Monday night. Maybe they’ll be able to sneak us a few priceless moments.
