It’s pretty much safe to say, waist trainers are a dying trend.

Aside from being incredibly uncomfortable, they’ve been proven ineffective and actually harmful in a lot of cases. “Spot reducing doesn’t exist,” Christopher Ochner, Ph.D. told MarieClaire.com about waist trainers. “You can’t reduce the collection of fat in any one particular area of your body. If you push your stomach in, all the fat will go right back to where it was no matter how long [you wear the corset] for.”

Amber Rose, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner were some of the biggest advocates for the vanity-happy tool to reduce the stomach in 2015. And individuals like PreMadonna have become stars from selling and promoting what is essentially an 18th century corset.

Despite the hoopla, we’ve pretty much forecasted that when 2016 hits, a new ridiculous fad will come into style, and waist trainers will be a thing of the past. But, there is nothing wrong with attempting to sculpt the stomach… when working out.

And for this, we have five awesome solutions on the next pages.
