Taraji P. Henson just landed her second magazine cover in the span of month, and it’s her sexiest yet.

The “Empire” star strips down for the August pop issue of W Magazine, in a series of sultry photos, that show a different side of the actress. She might be wearing only a white t-shirt and jeans, but Henson brings the heat to the cover, and makes it easy to put up with all the Cookie puns the magazine can come up with (tough cookie, sweet tooth, etc…).

Her natural beauty takes center stage as her skins glows and rocking a serious smokey eye. Inside, she goes from a one-shoulder mini dress to an open red button up blouse. And not even a minor nip slip can take the focus away from Henson’s flawless skin and a self-confidence that is shining through the pages of the magazine.

She graced the July cover of Allure magazine as well, channeling her inner disco diva for that photo spread, and revealing that she does not mix business with pleasure. In W, she also opened up about her life-changing role and working with Lee Daniels. Henson knows that Cookie Lyons is her golden ticket, and she is just enjoying the ride .

“Cookie is bold and crazy, and she loves the struggle,” Henson said. “She started from nothing, and now she’s at the top. In that way, we’re alike: Cookie is the American Dream.”

It seems that it officially the era of Cookie Lyon. Sorry Olivia Pope.

Keep reading for more highlights from her interview.

On her Oscar performance of “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp”: “I sang that in front of my peers,” Henson said. “It was both amazing and embarrassing. But I think the song won for the same reason that people love Cookie. It was about coming from nothing, having goals, and going after them.” She paused. “And it was extreme. People love extremes.”

On her life-changing role playing Cookie Lyon: “They want Cookie,” Henson declared. “They see her heart. They see her intentions. And they love her style—her style is 17 years behind the fashion curve, which makes the clothes a character on the show. As Cookie grows, you’ll see her fashion grow. And people love that—she’s a work in progress. The only thing that never changes is her spirit: To me, Cookie is living, breathing, walking truth.”

On criticisms that Cookie Lyon is not a good role model: “When I hear that Cookie is a bad representation of black women, I don’t get involved. Maybe Cookie makes you uncomfortable because she reminds you of yourself. People miss the bigger picture when they start judging.”
