#TBT: The Bachelorette’s Kaitlyn Bristowe Used to Dress Like a Backup Dancer for ’00s-Era Christina Aguilera

Known for her girl-next-door sense of humor (and what she calls her “fat-man laugh”), The Bachelorette‘s Kaitlyn Bristowe doesn’t take herself too seriously. After all, she entered a semi-polygamous, reality dating competition. Let’s be real.

That said, her Instagram is full of hidden gems that showcase her fun-loving personality — including an ancient #TBT she posted back in October 2013, in which she’s dressed like a backup dancer from Christina Aguilera’s “Come On Over” music video, a true gem from the early ’00s.

Fitting, really, given that she works as a dance instructor herself.

While Xtina immediately came to mind, the newest Bachelorette could have been inspired by a myriad of poor choices in braided hairstyles from back in the day! Let’s revisit some of our favorites, shall we?

Well, naturally.

Where is the love?

3. Taylor Swift

Kaitlyn may have been born in Alberta, Canada, but we don’t know that she didn’t take a trip to Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, in 2002 to catch up with 12-year-old style icon Taylor Swift.

4. Bo Derek

Ah, a classic. Bo Derek’s look from her 1979 film 10 is something she’ll never, ever live down.

5. Justin Timberlake

JT transformed from a sometimes braided, often ramen noodle-haired duckling into a beautiful, suit-and-tie-wearing swan. We’ve all made bad choices.

Seems almost unfair to pick on ‘NSYNC like this but, well, how could we leave out this braided updo? It was the ’00s. There was only one computer for your family to share and it was in the den and you had to manually press the power button to turn it off. It was a crazy time for everybody.

7. Kim Kardashian

Sorry, Kim — we haven’t forgotten your music video for “Jam (Turn it Up),” in which you sported Bo Derek braids.

If Throwback Thursday isn’t for making fun of your most dire fashion choices, then we’ve been using Instagram all wrong. We’re glad to see that Kaitlyn is doing it right — may we never forget her killer ’00s looks … including this one:

(Yeah, sorry, we saw that one, too, Kaitlyn.)
