This Is the Secret Behind Kim Kardashian West’s Super-Shiny Pregnancy Hair

Being pregnant has its beauty benefits, like glowy, radiant skin, super-shiny hair and stronger, longer nails. And Kim Kardashian West‘s hair has seemingly never looked better. Her shine may be mostly thanks to her future baby, but she’s had a little help from her and her sisters’ haircare line, Kardashian Beauty, and some styling tricks from her go-to hairstylist Jen Atkin.

Kardashian West’s super-shiny strands were out in full force at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund dinner in L.A. Tuesday evening, where she appeared alongside her husband Kanye West and the mag’s editor in chief Anna Wintour.
“Kim always looks beautiful with a center part and effortless wave,” Atkin, who’s also the CEO and founder of Mane Addicts, tells PEOPLE exclusively.
To get the sleek, center-parted look, Atkin first began by running a dollop of Kardashian Beauty K-Body Volume Foam through Kardashian West’s damp hair, then smoothed Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil on the ends.
Atkin then blew out the reality TV star’s hair with a round brush, and then used the Kardashian Beauty 3-in-1 Curling Iron to add loose curls throughout, keeping the ends sleek and straight.

To create Kardashian West’s signature semi-straight look, Atkin smoothed some of the curls with the Kardashian Beauty 1-Inch Ceramic Hairstyling Iron for variation and texture.
“We used the [curling iron] on a low heat setting to get a bend in her hair, then smoothed the ends with the flat iron,” Atkin says.
To finish the look, the Atkin tamed frizz and flyaways with Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil, and then added a touch of shimmer with Kardashian Beauty Pure Glitz Hair Spray, which also helped lock the look in place.
