Two Ex-Heads Of Gucci Get Married In Valentino

It’s not really shade as no one really expected her to wear Gucci but at her wedding when she wedthe former varied CEO Patrizio di Marco former Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini wore a Valentino gown for her nuptials. That’s a bit of a sentence to unpack so let us lay it out.

Patrizio di Marco was the CEO of Gucci. Was! That is until this past December when he was unceremoniously sacked from his gig with the CEO of Kering(you know, the owner of Gucci) Francois-Herni Pinault saying simply “I truly enjoyed working with Patrizio.” AS always tongues wagged about the situation but one of the most significant and telling bits of gossip that was followed up with anonymous sources who were a part of the company said that employees often felt trapped because since di Marco was romantically involved with Giannini, they didn’t feel like they could go to either one with a problem as the information would be shared betwixt the two.

Well with the news of di Marco’s departure, there was also a statement saying that Giannini herself would be out following the February Gucci presentation. This ousting came premature, only days after her beau left, putting Alessandro Michele in the driver’s seat mostly for the menswear collection that was shown and fully in control of the women’s collection shown in February and the cruise collection just debuted here in New York this week.

Now, without the burden of their positions weighing them down, the two, who have a daughter together, have finally decided to wed. Yesterday, the pair got married in Rome with Giannini wearing a custom Valentino gown designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. The brand posted a photo of the design on their Instagram. It’s rumored that they also designed the dress of the couple’s daughter Greta but images of it have yet to surface.
