If you’re a sneaker maven who can’t resist a chic pair of kicks, then this news is for you!

American shoe-manufacturer, Vans, has yet another collaboration up its sleeve – and we’re convinced this will be a dope one. The footwear brand recently announced plans to team up with artist Takashi Murakami. You know, the mastermind behind the famously designed collection for Louis Vuitton back in 2002, and Kanye West’s “Graduation” album cover art? Well yea, that Murakami.

While there hasn’t been much information released about the new venture, the Vans x Takashi Murakami range is expected to include footwear, apparel and even skate decks  – which basically means there will be something for everyone.

“We are so privileged to work with an artist of Murakami’s caliber. This collaboration brings together two global cultural icons and we are proud to unveil the project after much anticipation,” Stephen Mills, Vans VP of global product merchandising, said in a statement.

Murakami has been known throughout the contemporary art industry for his playful and colorful aesthetic on Japanese traditions. So we’re pretty sure this anticipated mash-up is one that will go down as an epic collaboration.

While we wait until its release, which is set for later on this month, check out some Vans picks that are perfect for summer on the pages ahead.
