When it comes to your winter attire, you’re sure to incorporate heavy coats and warm knits into your wardrobe, but are probably less likely to throw in a pair of sunglasses. Sported during the summer months to block out the sun, sunglasses should be kept in rotation just as much this winter because harmful UV-rays are still in effect.

Don’t let the grist wintry clouds in the sky fool you; you’re still at risk for sun damage and sunglasses are a stylish way to keep your pupils protected.

According to board-certified ophthalmologist Jessica Lattman, “In the winter, the sun sits lower in the sky and at a different angle” which can increase your risk of harmful sun exposure and even lead to eye diseases such as cataracts. Additionally, the cold air has a tendency to make your eyes water, so if the wind blows the wrong way and you’re wearing mascara, you could have a real mess on your hands.

For preventative measures, incorporate some fun frames into your OOTD’s.

In the gallery below, StyleBlazers on Instagram  show you how. From aviators to sunglasses with a retro flare, the possibilities are endless and ridiculously stylish.
