Iggy Azalea New Vid Influenced By Outkast

Iggy Azalea’s “Work” music video is partially inspired by OutKast’s famed “Bombs Over Baghdad.” In an interview with MTV News, the Australian rapper revealed the myriad of sources that influenced the clip for her single.

“I took some ‘Bombs Over Baghdad’ inspiration with the semis. We got some semi-trailers. All kinds of stuff. I just kinda went crazy,” Iggy shared.

She also cited Quentin Tarantino’s Deathproof and the cult film, Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert.

“I really liked this film as a kid and always identified with it because it’s [about] drag queens and they have to keep stopping in small rural towns and they’re not accepted,” said Iggy. “I always kinda felt that way with rap — trying to break into it, I wasn’t accepted and I was out of my element, so I really love that movie, and it being Australian, I really wanted to draw reference from it. So there’s little nods to that in the desert scene.”
