Good morning reflection is always good. Some people ask me about why I decided to go natural. My natural hair journey had nothing to do with me at all. One day my beautiful daughter Nyla came to me and asked mom why is my hair like this? (meaning wavy, curly, thick) she then says my hair is not staight like yours or my friends and why is she so different. Well as her mother I explained that she was specially designed by God and we are all made in his image but at the same time we are all unique! She is beautiful just the way she is. And then it hit me…. how can I tell her these words when I myself had conformed to the ways of society rules???? Message received, I needed to be an example to her and let her see exactly what defines beauty and hair was the least. I needed her to embrace who God created her to be in her purest form and thats how my journey begun!! In trying to set this example I have learned so much! She now has embraced her beautiful tresses and this natural hair journey has spoken volumes. Everyone have their reason and every journey is different but the end results are the same. A new found freedom to love and accept oneself just the way you are imperfect but flawless!! @sharnelnaturallee
