Finding a nude lipstick that flatters deep skin tones can be a struggle. When it comes to the pool of nude lip colour, many of us are affraid to take a dip; worried that nude hues will drown out the shape of our lips or give us clown mouth.
For starters, it helps to redefine the definition of nude and keep an open mind about what the color actually looks like. Nude could be 1 of a bazillion colors, so don’t feel obliged to beige or taupe colored lip products.
Secondly, don’t match your lip color to your skin tone. The idea that a nude lip should match your skin tone is a huge misconception and the reason why many of us end up with a disappearing act for lips. For shades that compliment your skin tone without erasing your lip shape, choose lip products that resemble your natural lip color. Salmon pinks and muave lip colours are ultra-flattering on deep skin.
Finally, wear gloss. Matte lipstick are opaque and if not carfeul, shades on the lighter end of the spectrum can have you looking like you’ve had powdered donuts for breakfast. A lip gloss adds luster to the lips and brings back your pouts natural texture.
