Former Marc by Marc Jacobs Designers Debut New RTW Collection

When we first got word of Marc Jacobs dissolving his Marc by Marc Jacobs line, we honestly thought it was some sort of bad April Fool’s joke. But after the rumors turned out to be true, designers Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley wasted no time announcing plans on continuing their own creative partnership. Now – four months later – the duo is officially taking preorders for their first Hillier Bartley collection.

Exclusively available on Matches Fashion, the luxury range has a strong focus on fabrics that celebrate English tailoring – which is the exact opposite of the youthful trends the British duo were once known for. Selections include corduroy trousers, bell sleeve tops, fringe detailing and classic overcoat silhouettes. But according to Vogue, the pieces still carry an edgy aesthetic that you can’t seem to turn away from.

“It’s dapper and rakish, but with a kind of rock-‘n’-roll femininity about it. The fabric is the sort Savile Row tailors use—you don’t feel it until you wear it, but then you understand the quality,” Bartley told the publication. “It feels like it’s time for something authentic, with longevity.”

And while it’s clear that the range has a luxe aura to it, the separates aren’t the type to run cheap. Currently, price points range from $500 for a classic button down with bell sleeves to $2500 for a fringe-trimmed silk gown.
