Hedi Slimane to show photos in Paris

The Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent will host a gallery show of the designer’s photography later this year.

Hedi Slimane’s upcoming show “Sonic” will appear from September 18, 2014 until January 11, 2015, showcasing 15 years of his work shooting some of the most famous musicians in the works.

Some of the iconic rock ‘n’ roll figures include Lou Reed, Brian Wilson, Amy Winehouse, and Keith Richards, all captured in Slimane’s signature high-contrast black and white style. There will also be a documentary video installation comparing the music scenes in London (2003-2007) and California (2007-2014).

Best known as a designer, from his silhouette-redefining days at Dior Homme to his current role as creative director at Saint Laurent, Slimane’s photography has become an equally important part of his work. He is currently represented by the Galerie Almine Rech in Paris and in 2011 published his photo-retrospective of the previous ten years, “Anthology of a Decade.”
