“The frayed nature of reality and the beauty of imperfection,” reads the show notes from Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen Fall 2015 collection. This season breathes the same dark, romantic spirit of Lee McQueen’s legacy for the fashion house. The show seeks out to portray “the spirit of the rose,” a deeply emotional and sometimes sinister flower that radiates beauty in its entire life cycle from budding to decaying.

An appropriate color palette of black, scarlet and blush adorn delicate and daring pieces, ultimately portraying the sentimental yet obtuse showing. Perfect pleats and feminine petal-like design details marry with structural leathers and macabre styling to further reiterate the theme.
