If there were ever a time for shoe mavens to rejoice, there’d be no better moment than now. Saks Fifth Avenue has announced that it’s opening a shoe-only location in Greenwich, Connecticut. We’ll give you a moment to let that sink in. Got your composure back? Okay.

The store – which is designed after the shoe department in the company’s 10022 Manhattan location – is set to open in fall 2016, and includes 14,000 square feet with 11,000 of that dedicated to selling only women’s shoes. But along with the massive space, the location will be furnished with seating and have a VIP room available, along with a shoe-repair service. Talk about major!

“This is not just a shoe story,” Marc Metrick, president of Saks, told WWD. “Greenwich is a very strong market for Saks. This is going to unlock an underexploited volume opportunity in ready-to-wear.”

According to RetailDrive, the department store has been receiving a lot of attention thanks to its new parent, Hudson Bay Co. The company is on a mission to recapture the store’s upscale reputation — which we’re sure they’ll be able to accomplish with this new location.

As far as we’re concerned, fall 2016 is officially marked on our calendars, and we’re already planning a road trip to Connecticut, btw!

But until then, click through our gallery for shoe picks we’re ready to snag from the posh department store now.
