These Pimple Stickers Are Seriously Unreal

Most of us know Peter Thomas Roth for its somewhat pricey skincare and makeup products, but who knew the brand had a miracle on its hands? Last week, I decided to take a beauty risk and purchase these Acne-Clear Invisible Dots ($12-$30), as they’ve been recommended over and over again by friends. When someone tells me an acne product works overnight, I typically agree to disagree because, well…most of them just don’t.

However, seeing the ingredients salicylic acid, tea tree oil and hyaluronic acid on the container eased my skepticism. The first of what I like to call the “power three” addresses the widest range of acne causes since it is a form of aspirin. In simpler terms, salicylic acid is an exfoliant that also acts as an inflammatory, literally cleaning out the pores under the skin. Similarly, hyaluronic acid is what what helps the skin retain moisture, especially when you factor in sun damage and aging. Tea tree oil is what finesses the other two, by preventing future acne and infections. So, when all of these are combined into a concentrated formula, it shortens the acne timetable by a lot.

After treating myself to a tissue mask (more on that here), I placed the clear stickers on every visible pimple and prayed that this so called miracle would take place. As you can see from the above photo, 7 hours of sleep and a couple of invisible dots are an almost perfect combination. Although I would recommend using these over the weekend sans makeup in between, I am completely impressed by how much these cleaned up my face in one sleep.

Unlike other drying agents like gels or toothpaste–we’ve all tried the latter–these tiny dots also leave the area around the pimples feeling hydrated, but not too oily. All in all, I’m ready to basically convert my entire skincare stash to Peter Thomas Roth.
