Woman Sent To Prison For Selling Counterfeit M.A.C. Makeup

We’re pretty sure one New Port Richey, FL woman is asking herself that same question since being sentenced to 18 months in a federal prison for selling fake M.A.C. Cosmetics. According to Yahoo Style, purchased the products from China before reselling at inflated prices via her start up business, Cozmetic Delights LLC.
It is unclear just how long she engaged in the illegal activity, but part of her hefty sentence includes paying M.A.C. a total of $961, 744.75 for the counterfeit cosmetics.
“We would like to explain that our products are distributed for sale only at our authorized retail store accounts (including certain direct TV sales), free-standing stores, and e-commerce sites,” said the beauty giant in an official statement to local FL news.
“Products sold to our authorized accounts are genuine M.A.C. If a retailer is not one of our accounts, we have no control over the merchandise that they sell. Further, we have no way of knowing how they obtained our products. Therefore, we are unable to assume responsibility for unauthorized representation of our product.”
Additionally, counterfeit makeup is usually laced with harmful ingredients like arsenic and rat feces, so why would you want to buy it anyway?! Stick to your local M.A.C. store, ladies!
